You’re my Steve Rogers, always there with pizza and pep talks. Let’s escape to our hideout, just us. It’s like we’re kids again. Those baby ducks? Too adorable. We flop under our tree, but then your phone screams, you check and suddenly freeze staring at the ducks. They’re… ash. My heart sinks. Then you’re fading, ashes flaking from your hands. I grab you, pleading, “Stay. I love you.” But you’re gone. I’m clutching air, screaming at the sky. Why not me?
